In a rare display of unity, anti-immigration protesters from both sides of the sectarian divide in Northern Ireland came together in Belfast to demonstrate against mass migration. The protest, which was sparked by a recent mass stabbing attack in England, saw British Union Jack flags and Irish Tricolour flags flying side by side, a sight that has left many in the city stunned.

GB News’ Northern Ireland reporter, Dougie Beattie, was on the scene and described the protest as a “united front” against mass migration. He noted that the protesters were mostly working-class individuals, including some from Dublin, who have been directly affected by the impact of mass migration policies.

In contrast, a counterprotest in support of migration was largely comprised of middle and upper-class individuals, who have not felt the same level of impact from mass migration. The counterprotest featured a different set of flags, including Palestinian, Antifa, and Pride flags, and saw chants of “Nazi scum off our streets” directed towards the anti-mass migration protesters.

The anti-mass migration protesters responded with chants of “Islam out!” as they marched through the city. The Police Service of Northern Ireland was on hand to ensure the safety of everyone involved, deploying riot vehicles and officers to the scene.

At one point, police formed a cordon around the Islamic Centre on University Street as the anti-mass migration protest passed by. Several businesses in the area reported damage to their storefronts, resulting in at least two arrests, according to the Belfast Telegraph.

The protest has highlighted the deep divisions within Northern Ireland over the issue of mass migration, with many working-class individuals feeling that they have been left behind by the policies of the government.
