The library at Portland State University (PSU) in Oregon has been closed due to damage caused by anti-Israel protesters who occupied the building. PSU President Ann Cudd deemed the library “not suitable for occupation” and stated that it may not reopen for several months. The protesters, identified as Antifa and far-left extremists, occupied the library for four days, causing extensive destruction. Law enforcement officers cleared the protesters out of the library, making 30 arrests, with only six of them being PSU students. The protesters had vandalized the building with graffiti and barricades, causing damage to walls, windows, doors, and important safety elements. The library staff are working to assess the damage and clean up the building in order to reopen to the community.
