Former national security adviser John Bolton has criticized President Joe Biden for damaging U.S. relations with Israel due to Biden’s threat to withhold weapons in response to a potential Rafah invasion. Bolton joined John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable” on WABC 770 AM, where he highlighted how the U.S. interference in the Israel-Hamas war has “come to an amazing point.”

According to Bolton, Biden’s actions have created an unprecedented rift between the United States and Israel, putting pressure on a long-standing ally during a perceived existential threat. Bolton suggested that Biden’s decision may be aimed at appeasing the hard-left faction of the Democratic Party, who could potentially impact the upcoming November elections.

Bolton, who also served as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations under President George W. Bush, warned of potential foreign policy implications of the strained relationship between the two allies. He highlighted that countries like China and Russia are closely monitoring the situation, questioning the United States’ commitment to its allies.

The disagreement between U.S. and Israeli officials revolves around the ethics of Israel’s potential military operation in Rafah, a city in Gaza with a mix of Palestinian civilians and Hamas militants seeking shelter. Biden’s threat to halt weapon transfers has further escalated tensions, with Biden emphasizing that such actions would not be supported if Rafah is invaded.
