Lee emphasized that hip hop culture often involves trading lyrics that may contain jabs, but he does not view this incident as a continuation of their music feud. Toronto Police Operations responded to the shooting at Bayview Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East, and the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. Police have video evidence of the shooting but have not released a description of the suspect or getaway vehicle.
Inspector Paul Krawczyk stated that they are unable to determine a motive at this time and could not confirm if Drake was at home during the shooting.
