30 Tons of Fentanyl Smuggled Across Border During Biden Administration

According to the Republican National Committee (RNC), approximately 30.3 tons of fentanyl have entered the United States across the southern border since President Joe Biden’s inauguration. The RNC noted that this amount of fentanyl could potentially take the lives of around 13.8 billion people, citing a United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) webpage on the drug.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) data from May indicated that fentanyl has been a leading cause of a rise in youth overdose deaths since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Truth Voices reported that fentanyl deaths have now surpassed adult opioid-related deaths, with a significant increase in youth emergency room and addiction treatment visits, particularly among Latino youth, in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.

Furthermore, Truth Voices reported in 2022 that fentanyl seizures increased fourfold along the U.S.-Mexico border under President Biden compared to the same period during former President Donald Trump’s administration.
