Former President Donald Trump raised an impressive $12 million at a Silicon Valley fundraiser in California on Thursday, according to a member of the California Republican National Committee.

This marked Trump’s first fundraiser since his conviction last week, showcasing his continued ability to raise funds and attract support despite efforts by Democrats to label him a “convicted felon” and damage his candidacy.
The New York Times described the event as a “landmark event.”
The fundraiser was co-hosted by David Sacks and fellow venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya. The two also co-host the popular “All-In” podcast.
The Times noted that the initial goal was to raise $5 million, an amount that was more than doubled. About 25 attendees joined a dinner as part of the fundraiser, with an additional 50 participating in a larger reception.
Senator JD Vance (R-OH), who is among the potential vice presidential candidates, introduced Sacks to Donald Trump Jr. and persuaded him to support Trump. Vance, a former Silicon Valley venture capitalist, played a crucial role in mobilizing the tech community for the event.
At the fundraiser, Sacks credited Vance for making the event possible, stating that Vance was “deeply involved” in encouraging tech industry leaders to participate.
Sacks later announced on X his endorsement of Trump for the 2024 election in a detailed post pinned to his profile. He wrote:
