On Thursday, the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) committed to taking legal action on behalf of Donald Trump if the NYPD revokes his concealed carry permit.

On Wednesday, it was reported that the NYPD was preparing to revoke Donald Trump’s concealed carry permit following the numerous felony convictions delivered by the jury last week.

However, the New York Times noted that Trump “has the right to file a challenge to the move.”

This is where the SAF stepped in, making it clear on Thursday that it will litigate on Trump’s behalf if his permit is revoked.

He added, “There is no historical precedent to deny someone, including Trump, their gun rights over such a conviction.”

Gottlieb concluded, “The attack on Trump’s gun rights highlights the necessity of reviewing and amending current gun control laws to protect individual gun rights.” Gottlieb also remarked, “Until that happens, we are prepared to face off with New York State or the federal government in court.”
