(Truth Voices) — The remains of two Kansas mothers who vanished while visiting Oklahoma were discovered in a freezer, as per new court documents.
Veronica Butler and Jilian Kelley went missing on March 30, 2024, during a trip to see Butler’s children. Their car was found abandoned, leading investigators to arrest five individuals related to the women’s deaths, which stemmed from a custody dispute.
Filed documents in Texas County, Oklahoma, indicated that investigators located the women’s bodies in a chest freezer after two days of excavating a burial site in a cow pasture. The cause of death was not detailed in the documents.

Sheriffs’ deputies found several significant items at the burial site, some possibly blood-stained. Items include jeans, sweatshirts, t-shirts, a black jacket, cloth gloves, ball caps, duct tape, and a sheathed black knife.
In April, Tifany Adams, Tad Cullum, Cole Twombly, Cora Twombly, and Paul Grice were arrested in connection with the crime. Adams is the paternal grandmother of Butler’s children.

Investigators reported that Grice questioned a witness about the duration DNA would remain on clothing in a 15 feet deep dirt hole and sought advice on how to relocate “a guy and his family” to Mexico.
Documents also show that data was seized from suspects’ devices that could implicate them in the crime, including cellphones owned by Cole and Cora Twombly while they were in a truck during their arrest.
The filings state Adams bought those cellphones and another device in February at a Walmart.
