A devastating crash in western Palm Beach, Florida, has claimed the lives of nine people, including six children, and left one person seriously injured.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred on Monday evening, around 7:30 p.m., when a vehicle failed to navigate a sharp turn and crashed through a guardrail before plunging into a nearby canal. Four people were pronounced dead at the scene, while five others were rushed to the hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.

The victims have been identified as Pamela Wiggins, 56, Leiana Alyse Hall, 30, and Anyia Monique Lee Tucker, 21, as well as six children, aged 14, 8, 5, 5, 3, and 1. The sole survivor, 26-year-old Jorden Hall, was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

The accident report revealed that none of the occupants were using safety equipment at the time of the crash. The cause of the accident remains unclear, and an investigation is underway.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has announced that it will be deploying a team to assist in the investigation. In a statement, the NTSB said it would be working in coordination with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to conduct a safety investigation into the crash. The team will aim to determine the cause of the accident and identify potential safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
