CARENTAN-LES-MARAIS, France (AP) — Can you believe it? The combined age of the bride and groom was nearly 200 years old. And yet, World War II vet Harold Terens and his sweetheart Jeanne Swerlin decided to take the plunge and tie the knot Saturday in Normandy, France, proving that love knows no bounds.

At 100 years old, Terens boldly declared it ″the best day of my life.″ His blushing bride, a youthful 96, added, “It’s not just for young people, love, you know? We get butterflies. And we get a little action, also.″ Talk about relationship goals!

They chose the picturesque town hall of Carentan, a historic location with ties to the D-Day invasion, to exchange vows. It was a beautiful ceremony, complete with a swing band playing Glenn Miller hits, cheering well-wishers, and a whole lot of Champagne flowing.

The couple, both American, may not have had a legally binding ceremony, but with an invite to a state dinner at the Elysee Palace with Macron and Biden, who needs a marriage license, right?

As the crowd shouted “la mariée!” to the blushing bride, it was clear that love truly knows no age limit. Here’s to the newlyweds and may their union bring joy, peace, and maybe even some late-night dance parties!
