YouTube Music Unveils Innovative Features, Expands “Hum to Search” and Introduces AI-Generated Conversational Radio

YouTube Music is pushing the boundaries of music discovery with the rollout of two exciting new features: the expansion of “hum to search” and the introduction of AI-generated conversational radio. The “hum to search” tool, initially available in beta for Android users since March, allows users to search the YouTube Music catalog of over 100 million official songs by using natural sound.

To access this feature, users simply need to tap the “search” icon and look for the waveform icon. Then, they can hum, sing, or play a song on another instrument to find the desired track. This feature is now available to YouTube Music subscribers on both iOS and Android devices.

Additionally, YouTube Music has been working on AI-generated conversational radio, a tool that enables users to describe the type of radio station they want to listen to using natural conversation. The algorithm will then create a tailor-made radio station based on the user’s preferences. This feature is similar to Spotify’s AI DJ, but the conversational element allows the algorithm to zero in on the user’s exact tastes.

While AI-generated conversational radio is currently only available to select subscribers in a testing phase, it is expected to roll out to more users in the coming months if successful. YouTube Music’s “hum to search” tool, which was first announced in March, has already become widely available, indicating the company’s commitment to innovation and user experience.
