A national election integrity watchdog group, the Fair Election Fund, has uncovered over 60,000 potential discrepancies in donations made to the Biden-Harris campaign through ActBlue, a nonprofit organization that provides Democrats with a fundraising platform. The group, launched in May by former House Judiciary Committee ranking member Doug Collins, conducted an investigation from late July to early August and identified thousands of individuals who were listed as small-dollar donors in the Biden-Harris campaign’s July Federal Election Commission report but claimed not to have made the contributions when contacted.
According to Collins, the findings suggest that the Democrat money machine may be secretly stealing the identities of unsuspecting Americans to launder money to Kamala Harris, which he described as potentially the biggest scandal in modern presidential history. “Fighting for fair elections means a lot more than just ensuring the American people can have confidence in the voting process,” Collins said. “We must get to the bottom of these irregularities to give the public peace of mind that the fundraising landscape in this election is free from fraud.”
The Fair Election Fund has shared its findings with Republican attorneys general, including Steve Marshall of Alabama, who expressed gratitude for the information and vowed to investigate whether any of his constituents have been defrauded by ActBlue. “Any donor fraud whatsoever compromises the fairness of our elections and cannot be tolerated,” Marshall said.
Other attorneys general, including Mike Hilgers of Nebraska, Kris Kobach of Kansas, Jason Miyares of Virginia, and Ken Paxton of Texas, have also been contacted by the Fair Election Fund. Paxton’s office is actively monitoring allegations of fraud, and Miyares has sent a letter to ActBlue regarding suspicious contributions.
The investigation has raised concerns about ActBlue’s security protocols and donor verification processes, including the lack of a CVV code requirement for credit card contributions until recently. The Fair Election Fund plans to expand its investigation to probe these issues further.
Some of the responses received by the Fair Election Fund when contacting Biden-Harris donors included claims of not knowing how to send a donation, not giving money to any political campaign, and never authorizing any contributions. The group has promised to spend over $5 million in 2024 to counter election fraud, including through its whistleblower protection fund and campaigns against election officials.
