Donald Trump is set to deliver a campaign speech in Butler, Pennsylvania, at approximately 5 p.m. ET. This marks his first visit to Western Pennsylvania during his 2024 presidential campaign, although he has previously stopped in the eastern part of the state.
Butler County has historically been a stronghold for Trump, who won the county by a margin of roughly two-to-one in both 2016 and 2020. The rally is expected to provide a platform for Trump to hint at his upcoming vice presidential pick, a decision he has yet to formally announce.
The shortlist of potential running mates reportedly includes Senator JD Vance of Ohio, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, and Governor Doug Burgum of North Dakota. The rally comes just two days before the Republican National Convention is set to begin, which is likely to be a significant event in the 2024 presidential election cycle.
