U.S. Navy Completes Floating Pier for Humanitarian Aid to Gaza

The U.S. Navy recently completed a “floating pier” off the coast of Gaza, which was connected to the shore by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). This project was announced by President Joe Biden in his State of the Union address in March, with the aim of improving the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. The U.S. Central Command confirmed that there were no American troops on the ground in Gaza during the installation of the port.

NBC reported that the port would be completed within a day, and the connection was successfully made with the help of IDF troops. The IDF, along with the Ministry of Defense and the U.S. Military, worked together to prepare for the pier’s installation and facilitate ongoing humanitarian efforts in Gaza.

In addition to the floating pier, the IDF also opened new land routes for humanitarian aid to reach Gaza from Jordan through Judea and Samaria. Despite some right-wing protests in Israel against sending aid to Gaza, the IDF continues to make efforts to ensure the delivery of aid through various means in accordance with international law.
