Trump to Appear in NYC Courtroom for Appeal in E. Jean Carroll Case

Former President Donald Trump is set to appear in a New York City courtroom on Friday to hear arguments in his appeal of a decision that found him liable for sexually abusing columnist E. Jean Carroll. A jury had previously awarded Carroll $83.3 million in damages, a ruling that Trump has vehemently disputed and vowed to appeal.

Trump’s appeal comes after a judge rejected his bid for a new trial in April. The former president has maintained that the ruling was a “disgrace” and has sought to overturn it.

Friday is shaping up to be a busy day for Trump in New York, as he is also awaiting a decision from Judge Juan Merchan on whether to delay his sentencing in a separate case. Trump is set to be sentenced on September 18 on 34 counts of falsifying business records linked to payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

Trump will also hold a news conference at Trump Tower in Manhattan, which is expected to take place on Friday.
