In a national matchup, former President Donald Trump leads President Joe Biden by double digits, according to a Rasmussen Reports survey released on Friday.
The survey of 1,000 likely voters conducted on June 20 shows Trump with 46 percent support, compared to Biden’s 36 percent. Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. garners nine percent, Cornel West receives two percent, and Jill Stein of the Green Party holds one percent. The survey has a margin of error of ± three percent.
This latest poll follows a May survey by Rasmussen Reports, where 54 percent of Democrats expressed a desire to replace Biden with another candidate.
Additionally, another recent Rasmussen Reports survey found that 57 percent of voters believe Biden’s mental decline is genuine.
These findings coincide with widespread dissemination of videos purportedly showing Biden’s cognitive struggles, which have sparked debate. While the Biden administration contends these videos are misleading, the Trump campaign has rejected these assertions.
“The truth hurts,” remarked Steven Cheung, Trump Campaign Communications Director. “When confronted with Biden’s evident decline, the Biden campaign resorts to baseless claims of a conspiracy among media outlets and others who observe his lapses,” he added.
“That’s what happens when you have junior staffers and interns running Biden’s campaign strategy for a candidate who can barely walk and talk at the same time,” he added.
