Trump Campaign Shifts into High Gear with Increased Events and Debate Prep

The Trump campaign is gearing up for a major push in the 2024 presidential election, with plans to significantly increase the former president’s public appearances and debate preparation, according to sources familiar with the strategy.

As part of this effort, Trump’s team is scheduling a flurry of events, with one adviser predicting that the former president will hold “several events each week, if not daily.” This will be a marked increase in Trump’s public appearances, which have already included stops in Pennsylvania and Arizona.

The Trump campaign is also focusing on debate preparation, with the former president taking part in “policy discussions” with lawmakers and experts ahead of his September 10 debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump’s team is reportedly using a similar approach to debate prep as they did ahead of his June 27 debate with President Joe Biden, which one adviser described as “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (I-HI) is also said to be helping Trump prepare for his debate with Harris, providing insight into the vice president’s “debate style.” Trump had initially suggested three debate dates, but the Harris campaign ultimately agreed to only two, with the first debate set for September 10 and a second debate scheduled for October.

The Trump campaign’s increased activity comes on the heels of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s endorsement of the former president, and as Trump looks to build momentum in the final stretch of the campaign. This week, Trump is set to speak at the National Guard Association of the United States conference in Detroit, Michigan, and will also make stops in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
