Trump expressed his gratitude to the United States Secret Service and law enforcement for their swift response to the shooting, which resulted in the death of one person and left another badly injured.
Trump extended his condolences to the families of the victims and acknowledged the shocking nature of the event, stating that it is “incredible that such an act can take place in our Country.” He also revealed that he was shot in the upper part of his right ear, describing the experience as a “whizzing sound” and feeling the bullet “ripping through the skin.” Trump added that there was significant bleeding, and he realized what was happening at that moment.
The Secret Service has also issued a statement, detailing the events of the shooting. According to the agency, a suspected shooter fired multiple shots at the stage from an elevated position outside the rally venue. US Secret Service personnel neutralized the shooter, who is now deceased. The agency quickly responded with protective measures, and Trump is safe and being evaluated. One spectator was killed, and two others were critically injured. The incident is currently under investigation, and the Secret Service has formally notified the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Trump is expected to make an on-camera statement to the nation after his injuries are assessed at a local medical clinic.
