TLC member T-Boz, whose real name is Tionne Watkins, was hospitalized over the weekend due to a severe abdominal blockage, forcing the group to cancel two upcoming concerts.
According to a statement posted on the group’s Instagram Story, T-Boz began experiencing severe nausea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps shortly after arriving in Syracuse, New York, where the group was set to perform at the NY State Fair. She was immediately seen by a doctor and taken to the hospital for further evaluation.
The diagnosis revealed a severe abdominal blockage, which necessitated the cancellation of the Syracuse and Foxwoods concerts. T-Boz remains in the hospital under medical supervision, but is expected to be released soon. The doctor has confirmed that the condition is not related to food poisoning, but rather an abdominal blockage.
T-Boz expressed her regret over the cancelled shows, extending her apologies to fans and event promoters. The decision to cancel was made on the advice of her physician, who required her to stay in the hospital overnight for a CT scan to assess the severity of her condition.
In a personal statement on Instagram, T-Boz said she is “on the mend” and looking forward to making it up to her fans. She thanked everyone for their understanding and sent blessings. This latest health scare comes as the group continues to tour and perform after a resurgence in 2015, following a long hiatus after the death of group member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes in 2002.
