Tim Walz’s Troubling Track Record: Another Lie Exposed

0:00

A recent investigation has uncovered that Minnesota Governor and Democrat vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz has been exaggerating his background, including his involvement with a teaching program in China.

According to a report by the Washington Free Beacon, Walz’s 2006 campaign website biography claimed that he was “named the Outstanding Young Nebraskan by the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce,” a statement that has been found to be false. Additionally, the biography implied that Harvard University was behind a teaching program in China that Walz participated in, when in fact the program, WorldTeach, was founded by Harvard graduates but is an independent nonprofit organization.

The report also notes that Walz’s congressional biography and a 2018 biography made similar claims about his involvement with the WorldTeach program, suggesting that it was a Harvard University program.

However, a 2001 article in the Harvard Gazette states that WorldTeach began as a student-run organization and was sponsored by the Center for International Development (CID), but is now an independent nonprofit organization.

Walz’s biography on his archived campaign website claims that “Harvard University offered Walz an opportunity to gain a new perspective on global education by teaching in the People’s Republic of China.” However, there is no evidence to support this claim.

This is not the first time Walz has been caught exaggerating his background. He has previously falsely claimed that his children were conceived through in vitro fertilization (IVF), that he carried weapons of war “in war,” and that he retired as a “command sergeant major” when he actually retired as a Master Sergeant.

The news has sparked outrage on social media, with many calling out Walz for his alleged dishonesty. “Another lie from Stolen Valor @Tim_Walz,” wrote Donald Trump Jr. on X. “This loser claimed for decades that he was selected to be part of a Harvard University teaching program… Only problem is that he made it up!!!”
