Swift, the pop star girlfriend of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, was spotted sitting with Kelce’s family in their suite, while Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Pat Mahomes, sat with her daughter in a different area.
The separation comes on the heels of Mahomes facing intense backlash for liking a pair of social media posts that appeared to support former President Trump. While she has not officially endorsed a presidential candidate, speculation is growing that Swift may endorse Vice President Kamala Harris in the coming weeks.
Mahomes’ social media activity sparked controversy when she liked a post that read “TRUMP-VANCE 2024” and another that praised her for standing by her opinions in the face of criticism. The message read, “Glad to see you aren’t backing down. We are all entitled to our own opinions and shouldn’t be bullied into submission.”
In contrast, Swift has been an outspoken supporter of the Biden-Harris ticket, endorsing them in the 2020 presidential election. In a statement at the time, Swift emphasized the importance of electing a president who recognizes the rights and dignity of people of color, women, and the LGBTQIA+ community.
As the Chiefs took on the Ravens, the noticeable absence of Swift and Mahomes’ usual camaraderie was a topic of interest among fans. The Chiefs currently lead the Ravens 13-10 at halftime.
