A staff member working for Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) has resigned following complaints about his behavior, as reported by multiple sources. Anang Mittal, who held the position of Head of Digital for Johnson, resigned after issues regarding his performance and unprofessional conduct were brought to his attention on Thursday, according to sources cited by Notus.
Mittal confirmed his resignation and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work in that capacity. He stated, “I’m just picking up the pieces and moving on. Don’t really have a lot to offer or any criticism. It was a pleasure and honor working there.”
When questioned about the complaints against Mittal, Johnson’s office declined to comment, citing personnel matters. Mittal’s resignation allegedly occurred a month after Johnson’s office separated from a graphic designer, according to sources disclosed to political reporter Kadia Goba from Semafor.
Prior to his time at Johnson’s office, Mittal served as the creative director for Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) during his tenure as majority leader, and as the creative director for the Senate Republican Conference under Sen. John Thune’s (R-SD) leadership, as indicated on his LinkedIn page.
Truth Voices attempted to reach out to Anang Mittal for a statement but did not receive a response at the time of publication. Johnson’s spokesman, Raj Shah, has not responded to a request for comment.
