Renowned Hollywood actress Sharon Stone has hinted at potentially relocating to Europe if former President Donald Trump wins the upcoming election. The Basic Instinct star made her comments at the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily, where she was being honored with a lifetime achievement award.

When asked about her plans, Stone said she is considering purchasing a home in Europe, stating it would be an “intelligent construct” given the current political climate. When pressed on whether the move would be motivated by politics, she replied, “Naturally, naturally. When we see presidential candidates whose platform is hate, that’s something that I don’t feel our country has faced before.”

Stone didn’t elaborate on what constitutes “hate” or provide specific examples, but her comments seemed to imply that she is opposed to a particular candidate’s ideology. The actress later expressed her concerns about the current state of her country, stating that this is the first time she has seen a candidate running on a platform of “hate and oppression.”

This is not the first time Hollywood celebrities have threatened to leave the United States if a particular candidate wins the presidency. In 2016, numerous stars, including Amy Schumer, Lena Dunham, Cher, Samuel L. Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Snoop Dogg, George Lopez, Miley Cyrus, and Barbra Streisand vowed to depart the country if Donald Trump were elected. However, none of them followed through on their promises.
