Russian Diplomat Blames NATO for Conflict in Europe

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has accused Western countries of being led by “gopniks” and “fashionistas,” while also blaming NATO for all conflicts in Europe. However, he fails to acknowledge Russia’s own role in the ongoing war. Ryabkov criticizes the United States for political incompetence and provocation, labeling America’s Western allies as mindless followers of Washington’s lead.

Despite Russia’s warnings, Ryabkov claims that America continues to engage in a proxy war with the Russian Federation, risking further escalation. He suggests that Washington’s leaders are too ignorant to understand the consequences of their actions.

In a turn of events, Ryabkov uses the derogatory term “gopniks” to describe the American leadership and criticizes Europe for blindly following trends without critical thinking. He blames NATO for the conflict in Ukraine, ignoring Russia’s own expansionist agenda in the region.

While Ryabkov hints at nuclear threats in his comments, he downplays Russia’s involvement in the conflict by giving access to its nuclear weapons to Belarus, and promising the same to other potential allies. Additionally, he announces that the United States will no longer be invited to Russia’s Victory Day parade, citing historical revisionism.

Overall, Ryabkov’s remarks underscore the strained relationship between Russia and the West, with implicit threats of nuclear retaliation and a refusal to acknowledge Russia’s own aggressive actions in the region.
