Rudy Giuliani, the former Mayor of New York City, was removed from his radio show on WABC after discussing alleged election fraud in the 2020 election. The decision was made by station owner John Catsimatidis, a Republican billionaire, who had warned Giuliani twice before taking this action. Catsimatidis explained to the New York Times that Giuliani’s refusal to abide by the station’s policy on discussing the election fraud led to his suspension. Giuliani, on the other hand, claimed that he was not aware of any such policy and criticized the move as a violation of free speech.

The suspension came after Giuliani’s comments on his show about his legal issues and the suspension of his law license. Catsimatidis expressed regret over having to make this decision but emphasized the importance of adhering to company policies. While he personally liked Giuliani, Catsimatidis stated that rules must be followed, even if he may not necessarily disagree with Giuliani’s views on the election.
