Riley Gaines Raises Awareness on Transgender Policies in California Prisons Through Docuseries

Women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines has brought attention to a docuseries produced by the Independent Women’s Forum (IWF) that sheds light on a concerning issue within the California prison system. The docuseries reveals how biological men who identify as women are being allowed to enter female correctional facilities in California.

Gaines expressed shock over the situation, sharing the docuseries on social media platform X. The video highlights the story of Hector Bravo Ferrel, a former correctional lieutenant with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Ferrel explained how California passed legislation allowing transgender inmates to be housed based on their gender identity rather than their biological sex.

Ferrel described how male inmates began identifying as females in order to be transferred to female institutions, leading to disturbing situations where male inmates could request unclothed body searches by female correctional officers. The implementation of transgender policies in the California Department of Corrections ultimately led Ferrel to leave his position, as he felt it compromised the safety and well-being of female inmates.

Ferrel emphasized the unethical and dangerous nature of allowing male inmates, including those convicted of sex crimes, to be housed in female prisons. He voiced concerns about the administration prioritizing political agendas over common sense and the duty to protect those in custody.

Overall, Gaines and Ferrel’s comments underscore the troubling realities faced within the California prison system due to the implementation of transgender policies.
