A HopSkipDrive driver in Nashville, Anthony Etuk, was arrested on Wednesday on charges of solicitation of a minor after making sexual advances towards two sisters he regularly drove to school.
The incident was reported on April 16, leading to Etuk’s inclusion on Nashville’s “Most Wanted” list.
The girls, aged 15 and 16, reported that Etuk had been acting inappropriately during their morning rides, prompting his arrest. Etuk allegedly asked the girls personal questions and began masturbating during the ride, took wrong turns to purposefully extend the ride, and then stopped at a gas station to clean himself up before continuing the route to the teens’ school.
The girls captured the incident on video and reported it to the police after Etuk dropped them off at school. Following an investigation, Etuk was arrested and released on bail. HopSkipDrive revoked his access to the app immediately.
Metro Nashville Public Schools also released a statement regarding the incident, expressing regret for the situation and emphasizing safety measures in place for students using contracted transportation services. Etuk’s arrest is one of many successful outcomes of Nashville’s “Most Wanted” program, which relies on public tips to locate and apprehend fugitives.
