‘Real Time’ Host Bill Maher Draws Fire for Abortion Remark

0:00

HBO’s “Real Time” host Bill Maher sparked controversy during Friday’s broadcast when he suggested that male working-class voters struggling with inflation should be more supportive of abortion rights. Maher made the comments while discussing the 2024 presidential election and the voting priorities of male and female voters.

Maher’s statement came after radio host Buck Sexton pointed out that the Democratic Party often emphasizes the abortion issue in its campaigns, which he believes may not resonate with male voters who are more concerned about economic issues. Sexton noted that male voters, particularly those in working-class jobs, tend to prioritize issues like inflation and affordability over social issues like abortion.

Maher interrupted Sexton to respond, arguing that male voters struggling to make ends meet should be more open to abortion rights.
