Anti-Jewish protests marred New York City’s July 4th celebrations, as a crowd of approximately 100 pro-Palestinian activists marched through the streets, desecrating American flags with flames and chanting anti-Israel slogans.

Videos of the demonstration, which emerged on Thursday, have sparked widespread concerns over the growing anti-Semitic sentiments observed in the past year.

According to the New York Post, the protesters in Washington Square Park chanted “Burn it down!” as part of their “Flood Manhattan for July 4th” campaign. Meanwhile, a recent Gallup survey reported that 49% of Americans consider antisemitism a “very serious problem” in the United States.

The same survey also noted that 32% of respondents view antisemitism as “somewhat of a problem”, while 10% believe it is “not much of a problem”. The rising prevalence of anti-Semitic sentiments has fueled widespread unease across the nation, as evidenced by the controversial parade through New York City.
