The final stretch of the presidential campaign is shaping up to be a nail-biter, with President Donald Trump gaining momentum and Vice President Kamala Harris facing an uphill battle. Recent polls suggest Trump is surging, while Harris’s post-debate bounce has fizzled out.
A series of polls conducted during and after the second debate between Trump and Harris, as well as the aftermath of the second assassination attempt on September 15, paint a concerning picture for the Harris campaign. The data indicates that the debate may have ultimately benefited Trump, with several polls showing a swing in his favor.
One notable survey by RMG Research, with a large sample size, revealed a two-point net national swing towards Trump since the debate and the assassination attempt. This shift is significant, as it suggests Trump’s popularity is on the rise, even before the full impact of the assassination attempt is factored in.
Furthermore, several polls indicate that Harris faces a daunting math problem in her bid for the presidency. Trump is leading in key battleground states such as Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, which would be enough to secure the Electoral College’s 270 votes without needing to win Nevada or Michigan. An Emerson poll also found Trump winning in Wisconsin, Arizona, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, which would be sufficient to elect him without North Carolina, Nevada, or Michigan.
Trump is also performing well in national surveys, with some polls showing him in the lead. If he wins the popular vote, it could translate to a historic landslide victory, with the potential to sweep many swing states. According to RealClearPolitics and Silver Bulletin polling, Trump has a 70% chance of winning the Electoral College.
While some Republicans are warning against overconfidence, the polls are undeniably positive for Trump. GOP strategist Alex deGrasse emphasized the importance of grassroots efforts, urging supporters to volunteer and ensure election integrity. “We need every patriot to get out the vote for President Trump and volunteer to ensure election integrity,” deGrasse told Truth Voices.
The following five polls, conducted over the past week, demonstrate Trump’s growing momentum:
ONE:
Siena/New York Times: Trump and Harris are tied nationally
TWO:
Emerson: Trump leads Harris in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Arizona
THREE:
Washington Post: Trump is tied with Harris in Pennsylvania in a head-to-head matchup
FOUR:
Cygnal/Carolina Journal: Trump leads Harris by one point in North Carolina
FIVE:
Rasmussen: Trump leads Harris nationally by one point
Additionally, a Gallup poll found that Trump’s favorability rating has increased, while Harris’s has decreased.
