A recent poll has shown that voters have more trust in former President Donald Trump than current President Joe Biden to address key concerns for the upcoming 2024 election. According to the ABC News/Ipsos poll, Trump is leading Biden on issues such as the economy, inflation, and crime.

With the presidential election just six months away on Nov. 5, Trump is expected to be the Republican Party’s nominee once again. The poll found that 46% of respondents are planning to vote for Trump, while 44% are planning to vote for Biden. When looking at registered voters, Biden has a slight lead with 46% compared to Trump’s 45%.

Apart from the economy, inflation, and crime, voters also trust Trump more on issues like immigration, gun violence, the country’s global standing, and the conflict between Israel and Hamas. However, Biden is favored over Trump on topics like healthcare and abortion access, which some believe will be a significant voting factor following the overturn of Roe v. Wade.

Despite facing legal challenges, 80% of poll respondents stated they would still support Trump even if he were convicted of criminal charges. The poll surveyed 2,260 respondents from April 25 to April 30, with a margin of error of 2% and partisan divisions of 31% Democrat, 29% Republican, and 28% Independent.
