A GoFundMe campaign was created to honor a group of patriotic fraternity brothers who defended the American flag from an anti-Israel mob, raising over $230,000. The fundraiser page aimed to celebrate the Pi Kappa Phi brothers at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with a party, reaching approximately $234,200 at the time of reporting. The students stood up against protesters who had replaced the American flag with a Palestinian flag, with UNC-Chapel Hill Chancellor Lee H. Roberts ultimately raising the American flag back up. The fraternity brothers faced hostility as they protected the flag, enduring thrown objects from the protesters. Lawmakers such as Sen. Marco Rubio and Rep. Mike Collins commended the students for their courage in defending the flag.
