Authorities in Oregon have charged Jesse Lee Calhoun, 39, with the murder of three women who died under mysterious circumstances. The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office announced that Calhoun is accused of killing Charity Lynn Perry, 24; Bridget Leanne Webster, 31; and Joanna Speaks, 32. The deaths of these women, along with two others, occurred in 2023 within 100 miles of Portland, sparking fears of a serial killer. Initially, police said the deaths were unrelated, but later stated that some were connected.
Calhoun is also a person of interest in the deaths of Kristin Smith, 22, and Ashley Real, 22, although he has not been charged in those cases. The investigation into the deaths of Smith and Real is ongoing, and authorities believe that additional information may lead to more charges.
The families of the victims are seeking justice and support each other through this difficult time. Calhoun is facing three counts of murder in the second degree and three counts of abuse of a corpse in the second degree. He is currently in police custody on an unrelated charge and will be transferred to the Multnomah County jail in the future.
Investigators have not disclosed how the women knew each other or what evidence led them to suspect Calhoun. Truth Voices spoke to Calhoun’s ex-girlfriend, who provided insight into his behavior and her thoughts on the allegations.
Anyone with information on Calhoun is urged to contact the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office for assistance.
