A mother in Cleveland pleaded guilty on Tuesday to a murder charge for the death of her 3-year-old child last year.
Timmeka Eggleton is set to be sentenced in July and could receive a prison term of up to 31 years.
Authorities stated that Eggleton, the biological mother, killed her son Curtis in June 2023.
Curtis had been in foster care for 2 1/2 years and was reportedly thriving. Despite concerns raised by a lawyer representing the child, Judge Allison Floyd ended supervision and returned Curtis to Eggleton permanently in March 2023.
Tragically, four months later, Curtis was killed.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Curtis’s death was a homicide caused by blunt force trauma.
