The NYPD reportedly carried out a raid on Columbia University shortly after the campus restricted access. Video footage showed officers in riot gear moving through the streets as protesters chanted slogans in support of Palestine. The university had instructed students to “shelter in place” following the takeover of Hamilton Hall by anti-Israel protesters. Police officers gathered outside the campus gates as students awaited further instructions. Additional video footage captured officers preparing to enter the occupied building, with several protesters being removed. Columbia University warned that those involved in the takeover could face expulsion. Prior to the incident, protesters had been given a deadline to vacate the encampment, which they defied.
