During a recent episode of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher responded to New York Times Executive Editor Joe Kahn’s remarks about the paper not being a tool for the Biden campaign. Maher pointed out that the paper already tends to publish negative stories about Republicans and positive stories about Biden.

Maher explained that he has been criticized for making fun of the left more often, but he believes they have become more quirky and annoying. Despite this, Maher clarified that he has not switched to supporting Republicans and still finds them to be a bigger threat. He emphasized that he critiques both sides.

Discussing Kahn’s comments about the role of the news media, Maher shared his agreement with the idea that it is not the job of journalists to prevent Trump from being elected. He found it ironic that Kahn suggested the Times should not be biased towards Biden, as Maher believes the paper already leans in that direction.

Overall, Maher applauded Kahn’s stance on journalistic integrity and the importance of impartial reporting.
