A junior enlisted sailor in the US Navy was reprimanded after attempting to access President Joe Biden’s medical records multiple times in February. The sailor, stationed at the Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command at Fort Belvoir, serves in the Navy Hospital Corps.

According to officials, the sailor searched for “Joseph Biden” in the Genesis Medical Health System database, the military’s medical records system, on three separate occasions but failed to retrieve the correct records. A coworker reported the incident, prompting an investigation by the Navy Criminal Investigative Service, which also informed the White House of the breach.

The sailor admitted to conducting the searches out of curiosity, citing the special counsel’s report describing Biden as an elderly man with a “poor memory” as a reason for their inquiry. The incident occurred shortly before Biden’s annual physical and amid growing concerns over his fitness for office.

Following the first presidential debate, where Biden appeared confused and disoriented, several Democrats have called for him to step aside before the November election, fearing he is unable to defeat former President Donald Trump. Despite these concerns, the president has remained committed to running for re-election, stating that it would take the “Lord Almighty” to convince him to withdraw from the ticket.

Top Democrats have publicly expressed support for Biden’s re-election bid, with several party leaders remaining in his camp. The sailor who searched for the records has been administratively punished and continues to serve in the US Navy.
