Pro-Palestinian protesters at MIT were given until Monday to leave their encampment. The encampment, which was established on April 21, is one of many on college campuses nationwide. MIT Chancellor Melissa Nobles warned that the encampment violated school policies and students who did not leave would face immediate academic suspension. Students who left voluntarily before the deadline would not face sanctions. Protesters responded by chanting “We are the intifada” and local high school students joined the protest. Law enforcement officials were seen on campus as protesters refused to leave. Video footage showed protesters chanting anti-Israel slogans.
