Military Veteran Thwarts Suspected Robbery at Jewelry Store

In Omaha, Nebraska, on Saturday, May 4, 2024, an armed military veteran thwarted an attempted heist at a jewelry store. The owner of Sidrony Jewelers, Garrett Peddicord, was present in the store late at night when he heard the front glass shatter and saw a person breaking in. The surveillance footage of the incident has been released.

According to reports from KETV and the New York Post, the would-be thief, dressed in black, threw a rock through the shop’s window and crawled inside, expecting to be undetected. However, Peddicord quickly emerged with his handgun drawn, confronting the intruder who then fled through the same broken window.
