Mexico Hands Over Accused Meth Kingpin to US Authorities

Mexican authorities have extradited a key figure in a major methamphetamine trafficking operation to the United States, handing over Jesus “M” to U.S. agents at Mexico City International Airport.

The suspect, whose full identity has not been disclosed, is accused of heading a Juarez-based cell that smuggled large quantities of methamphetamine into several American communities. He is wanted on charges of conspiracy and drug trafficking in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.

According to Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office, Jesus “M” played a leadership role in a powerful criminal organization based in Juarez, overseeing stash houses and coordinating the distribution of methamphetamine in the United States.

Jesus “M” was taken into custody by Mexican authorities last May in the western state of Michoacan, and following a court-approved extradition process, he has now been transferred to U.S. custody.

The extradition marks a significant development in the ongoing efforts to disrupt transnational organized crime networks, and Jesus “M” is expected to face trial in the United States on the outstanding charges against him.
