Meet Baby Dog: West Virginia Gov.’s Adorable Bulldog Steals the Show at RNC

On Tuesday, the Republican National Convention was interrupted by a charming surprise: West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice’s adorable English bulldog, Baby Dog. As the governor, known for his love of dogs, walked the beloved pet out onto the stage, the crowd erupted in cheers and applause.

Baby Dog was seated next to the podium, where Justice couldn’t help but share his affection for his canine companion. “I know a lot of you want to meet my little buddy,” Justice said, “so if Baby Dog can come on out here…” With Baby Dog by his side, Justice proclaimed, “She makes a smile, and she loves everybody.”

This heartwarming moment was not the first time Baby Dog stole the show. In June, the four-year-old bulldog made a splash when she appeared in a mural under the dome of the West Virginia State Capitol, alongside famous figures like Abraham Lincoln and Civil War soldiers. Furthermore, Baby Dog served as the informal mascot for the state’s “Do It For Babydog” COVID-19 vaccination program.
