Louisville, Kentucky – Masters champion Scottie Scheffler was detained by police on Friday morning for not following instructions during a traffic jam caused by a pedestrian fatality, as reported by ESPN. In the early hours of the morning, Scheffler was seen handcuffed and being escorted towards a police car, with traffic stopped in both directions for about a mile.

Authorities revealed that the pedestrian was struck by a bus while attempting to cross the road in a lane designated for vehicles entering the club. Tragically, the man lost his life at the scene of the accident.

According to ESPN, Scheffler, who had a morning tee time, disregarded a police officer’s instructions and drove past them, prompting the officer to chase after him. Scheffler was ultimately stopped and placed in handcuffs.

The PGA Championship’s second round had already been delayed due to rain, and the situation was exacerbated by the traffic congestion caused by the pedestrian fatality near the club’s main entrance, as mentioned by a Louisville police officer.
