A 40-year-old Hispanic man, believed to be an illegal immigrant from Mexico, is accused of sexually assaulting two women in separate incidents inside a van that investigators have described as a “rape dungeon on wheels” in Los Angeles County, California.
Eduardo Sarabia, identified by investigators as an illegal immigrant from Mexico, has been arrested and charged in Los Angeles County with one count of rape and one count of forcible oral copulation.
According to authorities, Sarabia allegedly took a female victim to a secluded area in the Angeles National Forest and raped her inside his van, which was reportedly equipped for sexual assault. The next day, he reportedly assaulted another victim in the same van in the same location, leading to his arrest.
District Attorney George Gascon, an advocate for sanctuary policies, expressed his concern for the victims and emphasized the seriousness of the crimes. Sarabia is currently in custody without bail and could face life in prison if convicted.
California, particularly Los Angeles, is known for its sanctuary policies, which protect illegal immigrants from deportation by federal agencies like ICE, even in cases involving serious crimes.
