Academy Award-nominated actor Danny Trejo, known for his tough guy roles in series like Machete, sparked a brawl during the Sunland-Tujunga Independence Day Parade in California on Thursday.
The 80-year-old actor was riding in a vintage convertible as part of the parade when he was allegedly targeted by a water balloon thrown from the crowd. Video captured the moment Trejo jumped from the vehicle, shouting at the individual he believed was responsible.
The actor quickly made his way towards the man, appearing to take a swing at him before the two briefly wrestled. Trejo was seen briefly falling to the ground, but promptly got back to his feet and continued towards his perceived assailant.
The altercation escalated further when members of Trejo’s entourage joined the fray. However, a bystander’s warning about nearby children temporarily halted the physical confrontation.
Despite this, Trejo continued shouting at the man he accused of throwing the water balloon. Another video posted on social media shows Trejo’s entourage attempting to restrain him from further confrontation.
According to reports, police responded to the scene, but by the time they arrived, the situation had already calmed down, and no arrests were made.
