Koch Group Shines Light on Biden’s Inflation Issues Through Large-Scale Battleground Ad Purchase

Americans for Prosperity, a nonprofit political advocacy group, is investing heavily in battleground states to highlight the issues of inflation that President Joe Biden is facing. Founded by Charles and David Koch, the organization is putting “seven figures” into digital and connected TV ads to support Republicans in key Senate and House races. The ads, titled “Costing Americans More,” criticize Biden’s economic policies and will target Democrats who have supported these policies.

According to AFP government affairs vice president Akash Chougule, the ads aim to show how Bidenomics is failing American families and causing economic pain. The organization’s grassroots network will be active this summer, calling out the high costs of these policies in states and districts where lawmakers have pushed for Bidenomics. Chougule emphasizes that when Congress supports Bidenomics, American families bear the consequences.

The targeted Senate races include those of Senators Jon Tester (D-MT), Jacky Rosen (D-NV), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Bob Casey (D-PA), and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI). House races being challenged include representatives from various states.

This ad campaign follows a previous significant spend by AFP in March. The organization’s strategy includes a website, Bidenomics.com, and economic-focused voter listening tours on “Bidenomics buses.” Tactics such as digital and mail outreach, door knocking, and phone calls will intensify closer to the November elections.

In April, consumer prices rose by 3.5% compared to the previous year, and Biden’s economic approval rating is net negative. The organization aims to highlight these issues to voters and hold lawmakers accountable for their support of Bidenomics.

Biden, during an economic event in Wisconsin, spoke about the American comeback and his efforts to grow the economy from the middle and bottom. He emphasized the importance of giving everyone a fair shot and leaving nobody behind for the benefit of all.
