Vice President Kamala Harris has agreed to participate in a Vice Presidential candidate debate hosted by CBS News this summer, as confirmed by the Biden-Harris campaign on Thursday. CBS has offered two dates for the debate, either July 23 or August 13, according to Harris’s team.

The campaign has agreed to the debate under certain guidelines, including no in-person audience, time limits for answers, alternate speaking turns, and candidate’s microphone only being on when it is their turn to speak. The Biden-Harris campaign looks forward to the Trump campaign accepting one of these dates so the full debate calendar for the campaign can be finalized.

Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump has not yet selected a running mate. He has agreed to participate in two debates before the general election, one with CNN on June 27 and one with ABC News on September 10. Trump has stated that he will wait until closer to the Republican National Convention in mid-July to choose a vice-presidential candidate.

“I’m not in a rush and we’ll do it sometime around the convention, but we have a lot of great people in the Republican Party,” Trump said in an interview with 6ABC in April.
