Fetterman: I Would Never Feed My Kids That

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) reluctantly agreed with Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) on Thursday in banning lab-grown meat in Florida. Fetterman expressed his agreement in a social media post, stating that he stands with American ranchers and farmers and would never serve such meat to his kids. DeSantis signed a bill prohibiting the sale and distribution of lab-grown meat in the state, citing a desire to support local farmers and ranchers and maintain the traditional beef industry.

In a separate effort, U.S. Senators have introduced legislation to prevent lab-grown meat from being served in national school lunch programs. Bill Gates has also advocated for the consumption of synthetic beef in wealthy countries to reduce carbon emissions, recommending the use of animal genetics in poorer countries to increase beef production efficiency.
