Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders compared her experience taking her son to the White House on “Take Your Kid to Work Day” to first lady Jill Biden’s encouragement of President Joe Biden to continue serving as commander-in-chief despite his recent debate performance. Sanders made the comment during her address to the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Tuesday.

In her speech, Sanders reflected on last weekend’s assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump’s life, stating that Trump’s future was in his hands and that “not even an assassin’s bullet could stop him.” She attributed Trump’s continued leadership to divine intervention, saying “God Almighty intervened because we are one nation under God and he certainly wasn’t finished with Donald Trump.”

Sanders also criticized the Biden administration, stating that President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are unable to explain what it means to be a woman. She claimed that the left is waging a war against conservative women and that she has firsthand experience with the attacks she receives as a Trump-supporting Republican woman. Sanders also took aim at Biden’s debate performance, saying that his struggles with his train of thought were evident and that he failed to effectively challenge Trump.

During a speech at a National Federation of Republican Women luncheon earlier in the day, Sanders said that the Biden campaign’s attempts to address concerns about the president’s age and mental acuity were unfounded. She claimed that the president’s family, including the first lady, encouraged him to remain in the race regardless of his performance.
