At least 61 people were injured and four Israeli soldiers were killed in a drone attack by Hezbollah on a military base near Binyamina, a city located about 64 kilometers north of Tel Aviv, just 40 kilometers from the Lebanon border. The attack occurred despite Israel’s air defense systems being in place.

The Israeli military reported that seven soldiers were seriously hurt in the attack, which was carried out by a UAV launched by Hezbollah. The militant group claimed that the drones had evaded Israeli radar and reached their target, a training camp of the elite Golani Brigade, without being detected.

In an apparent attempt to test Israel’s defense capabilities, Hezbollah also fired rockets at several cities in northern Israel, including Nahariya and Acre. The attacks were part of a larger escalation of tensions between Israel and Lebanon’s terrorist groups.

The incident happened during a period of heightened tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, following a weekend of intense fighting. On Yom Kippur, a significant Jewish holiday, Hezbollah fired over 300 projectiles into northern Israel, targeting what it claimed was a gathering of Israeli forces.

In response to the escalating situation, the US Department of Defense announced that it will deploy an advanced air defense system to Israel, along with US forces to operate it. The move is aimed at bolstering Israel’s defense capabilities in the face of ongoing threats from Hezbollah and other terrorist groups in the region.
