Former President Donald Trump sold one of his private jet planes, worth around $11 million, to a Republican mega-donor, according to financial records.
Cessna Citation X 750s are typically priced between $2.8 million and $11.6 million, according to Liberty Jet.
Mehrdad Moayedi, a longtime fixture in the construction and residential development business, has been a successful entrepreneur in North Texas. According to the Centurion American Development Group website, he established Centurion American Custom Homes in 1990 and took on executive duties as president and CEO of Centurion American Development Group.
Federal Election Commission records show that Moayedi donated around $245,000 to Trump Victory between April 2019 and July 2020 and around $5,600 to Trump’s campaign on April 17, 2019. In addition to his donations to Trump, Moayedi has also donated to other politicians, including former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and Sens. Ted Cruz, Kyrsten Sinema, Marco Rubio, and Tim Scott.
The sale comes as Trump faces a number of legal battles. In February, Judge Arthur Engoron fined Trump and the Trump Organization more than $350 million in a civil fraud case. Trump was also barred from being able to serve as an officer or director for any corporation in New York for three years.
Trump is also facing a business records trial, in which he is accused of falsifying business records in the first degree related to payments reportedly made to adult entertainment star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential election. Closing arguments in the trial are set to begin on Tuesday, with Judge Juan Merchan predicting that closing arguments could last one day and jury deliberations could begin on May 29, according to the New York Times.
